Before joining the Lukin group in 2019, Brandon earned his B.Sc. in Physics from the University of Maryland, where he conducted research on neutral atoms in optical lattices under the guidance of Trey Porto. During his undergraduate studies, he expanded his expertise internationally by working with the Browaeys Group in Palaiseau, France. After graduation, Brandon spent a summer with the Thompson group at Princeton, where he contributed to developing the first array of ytterbium atoms trapped in optical tweezers. He then spent a year with the Saffman group at the University of Wisconsin, where he worked on the atomic qubit array (AQUA) experiment. Currently, Brandon is focused on advancing photonic interfaces for neutral atom quantum systems, specifically by coupling single atoms in tweezers to optical cavities.
