Pieter-Jan received his B.E. in engineering physics and M.Sc. in Applied and engineering physics at Stanford University, where he worked on mechanical Purcell filters and quantum acoustics in Amir Safavi-Naeini’s group. He joined the Lukin group in 2020 and is currently working on quantum networking experiments with silicon-vacancy centers in diamond nanophotonic cavities. His work includes long-distance entanglement generation, proof-of-principle quantum networking protocol experiments, and pushing the experimental capabilities of silicon-vacancy centers as a solid state quantum information platform.
